What Makes KonMari Folding Different?
Determining how to organize a drawer sounds easy. Truth be known, it can be a huge challenge. How do you organize clothing to avoid a jumbled mess?
Using the KonMari method for organization and folding, you’ll find that it’s really very easy. The benefit is that when you’re done, the clothing will stand upright. It won’t lie flat, better yet, it won’t be wrinkled and you’ll be able to see what you have at a glance and nothing is stacked on top of anything else. It’s that easy.
Picture your tee shirt drawer all neat and tidy. You don’t have to stress over what to wear because you can see everything at a glance.
Here’s how it works.
Lay your tee shirt flat.
Fold the center of the shoulder inward toward the center of your collar. Do this fold the entire length of the shirt.
Fold the sleeve out from the line you’ve created midline. This should fold toward the outer edge of your shirt.
Now repeat this for the other side of your shirt so that you have a long rectangle.
Starting at the top to the bottom, you then fold your shirt so that it’s nearly in half. However, leave approximately one inch of extra space at the bottom of the shirt.
fold your shirt in half twice more from top to bottom. If you’ve done this correctly, your shirt will stand upright when you place it into the drawer.
There’s really no mystery to folding your underwear it’s really very simple with the KonMari method.
Place your underwear on a flat surface.
Fold it in half from the crotch of the underwear to the waistband.
Now take the left side and fold it toward the inside edge of the right leg hole.
Repeat this on the left doing the opposite.
Now fold the crotch toward the waistband. You should now be able to stand your underwear upright and place it into your drawer.
There are several variations of the KonMari Method. Always remember this. Consider what will work best for you. You can find a variety of videos if you get stuck. Many of the videos are done by none other than Marie Kondo.
